It started as an organic, spur-of-the-moment photoshoot on a summer afternoon, with a few melanin-dipped women in our hometown of Calgary, AB….
This first series of photos, taken in 2019, is what unknowingly kick-started the 7-part collection we now cherish. Producer, caedance from Areia Creative, reached out to a few of the women in her circle who reflected the core of who she saw as less documented in the city at the time – millennial, Black, creative, women. She wanted to “time-capsule” this era. And we’re oh. so. glad. that we did.
